PAWS started 11 years ago in a very small studio in Kingwood. Our dream was to create a place for students to get the best teachers out to the Western Suburbs and create a nurturing and creative environment for them to learn in. We strongly believe in the protection of children and also in making every child feel special. Our number one goal is to create confidence in every student and allow them the freedom to express themselves.
Eleven years later we have one of the biggest schools in Western Sydney and the only school with a circus department as big as it's dance department. Our students are not just triple threats but quadruple threats with Dance, singing, acting and circus skills all under their belt. PAWS has been on Australia's Got Talent for two years making it into the semi finals with our company "Outside the Box" who then went on to perform for an Opera company in a new work they were creating. PAWS students have performed professionally for Webbers Circus and at many corporate events around Sydney. PAWS also has professional club and shopping centre shows all over Sydney with Australian Global Entertainment. We have had many graduating students go onto professional careers including Disney Cruise Ships, Princess Cruise Ships, Caberet Shows and European Contemporary companies.
PAWS is a proud member of Project Dance a non for profit organisation where six schools work together to create opportunities for their students. Through Project Dance PAWS students have performed on X-Factor, opened the Australian Dance Festival, been on celebrity apprentice and been on Young Talent Time. Earlier this year with the help of the other schools we raised over $60,000 for breast cancer research and I had the honour of choreographing a routine for Delta Goodrem for the event which some of our student were a part of. PAWS is not just a dance school but a family. The thing we are proudest of is our incredible community who help each other when we are in need and who support each other through everything.
