Mission Australia is a non-denominational Christian charity that has been helping vulnerable Australians move towards independence for more than 155 years.
Independence is something we yearn for from our earliest days. But if there’s one thing as certain in life as our desire for independence, it’s that it rarely turns out as planned. Life’s complicated.
We’ve learnt the reasons behind a lack of independence are different for every individual.
Similarly, the paths to finding it are complicated and varied. This informs the way we work to achieve our goal of reducing homelessness and strengthening communities across Australia. We offer a wide range of integrated solutions and apply them over the long term. We help people nationwide by combatting homelessness, assisting disadvantaged families and children, addressing mental health issues, fighting substance dependencies, and much more.
Our staff and volunteers use different approaches, often applied in unison, inspired by Christian values. We’re joined by governments, our corporate partners and tens of thousands of everyday Australians, who make our work possible.
Together, we stand with Australians in need until they can stand for themselves.
